Dallas College recently announced an $8.8 million federal grant to develop a biotech workforce. The initiative was unveiled during a news conference at BioLabs, a 37,000-square-foot co-working space at Pegasus Park, a newly redeveloped office campus designed for biotech companies.We applaud this partnership of Dallas College, other higher education institutions and local health care employers to train and hire workers in the biotech sector. The seven employers that have banded with Dallas College and its higher education partners said they would hire a combined 1,100 entry-level workers.
